“Culturism” can be used to discuss issues ranging from immigration to polygamous marriage. The book, culturism, advocates protecting and promoting Western culture in Western lands. “Culturist” self-governance is shown to be central to U.S. History. Via anthropology and natural sciences we learn of the dynamics and range of cultures. And an entire chapter shows that Western nations do have a specific culture to be proud of and protect. The psychology chapter shows that our mental health and that of our culture cannot be realistically separated. Throughout the book, rights, the individualistic framework, and multiculturalism are targeted as undermining cultural considerations. Culturism is meant to counterbalance them and the philosophy chapter shows us how to do so. Other cultures already protect and prioritize their collective existence, the West needs to follow suit. Humorous, yet serious, anecdotes as well as up-to-date research from many fields fill the pages of this ambitious work. The policy chapter suggests we sign on to the Universal Declaration of Cultural Rights, curb immigration, and uphold public standards. Ultimately, adding the word “culturism” to our vocabulary is supposed to remind us that our individual futures and that of our culture are intertwined.
